Purchase an aircraft

Buying the right aircraft means not only finding a really good aircraft, at the best possible price, but ensuring it’s the right aircraft for your needs and budget.

Our goal is for you to be happy with your aircraft in years to come, while realizing as much of a return on your investment as possible.

01

Aircraft Selection

We’ll look at your needs and intended use for the aircraft.  How far do you want to go, how many people do you want to take, what types of airports do you want to be able to operate from?  What is your budget?  Often the focus is too heavily on acquisition cost and not enough on what the aircraft costs to operate. There’s no point in spending money on a new airplane if its going to cost you more to fly than you can justify.

02

Aircraft Search

Sorting through all available aircraft to find the best purchase option can be a daunting task.  Our expertise, industry contacts, and well developed research techniques, allow us to weed out potential problem aircrafts that might otherwise look appealing and provide you with the best purchase recommendation.

03

Negotiating the Purchase

Once we’ve found the right aircraft, the trick is to purchase it at the right price.

Our knowledge of the market and ability to negotiate means you’ll have a realistic understanding of what constitutes a good price, and the best chance of getting it.

A formal offer is written and submitted, typically with a soft deposit placed in escrow.

04

Pre-buy Inspection

We’ll coordinate and arrange to have the aircraft undergo a pre-buy inspection at an appropriate approved maintenance facility to confirm the condition of the aircraft and ensure all major repair and airworthy items are covered at the seller’s expense. Once all  maintenance items and discrepancies have been satisfied and the aircraft is in an acceptable condition.  A formal acceptance would be needed to proceed to closing.

05

Pre-closing

During this time a purchase contract is drawn up and agreed to by both parties, we coordinate through escrow all required FAA filings and required documentation associated with the aircraft purchase and transfer of ownership. In addition, the closing budget is circulated and funds deposited in escrow toward closing. Finally, an insurance binder is confirmed.

06

Closing and Delivery

In the last step, which is executed through escrow for the buyer and sellers protection, a delivery receipt letter is submitted, funds are distributed and final FAA filings are processed.  In addition, we help manage all engine and avionics program transfers, along with any requested ownership/operations support services.
